Our client is a well-established and highly regarded financial services organisation known for its strong reputation, innovative approach, and people-first culture. With continued growth and a focus on operational excellence, they are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the team on an initial contract basis during an exciting period of transformation and systems enhancement.
About the Role
This is an initial 3-month contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate. Based in the Melbourne CBD, the role offers a hybrid working arrangement of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
Working closely with the Payroll Manager within a small team, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing in Workday during a busy post-implementation period. The role requires someone who can step in and confidently manage payroll cycles, payroll variations, data validation, payroll queries, and issue resolution with minimal supervision, while ensuring compliance across awards and EBAs within a fast-paced financial services environment.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring proven end-to-end payroll experience along with hands-on experience processing payroll directly through Workday. You’ll be confident working autonomously, able to step into a fast-paced environment quickly, and comfortable managing payroll queries, variations, and compliance requirements with minimal supervision. Exposure to awards and EBAs within complex environments will be highly regarded, alongside strong attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
