Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Our client is a well regarded international industrial manufacturer, recognised for delivering high quality, reliable products to global markets. As the company continues to evolve, they are now seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their site in the Bankstown area.

This is a key leadership role for someone with a strong engineering background, capable of leading teams, managing multiple offshoring and decommissioning projects, and driving operational improvements.

This is an immediate-start 6 month contract with potential to extend into 2027. This role suits someone who has experience in commissioning and decommissioning manufacturing equipment, is able to be hands on and strategic and will be on site in Bankstown 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a maintenance team across both electrical and mechanical functions
  • Conduct regular facility and equipment inspections to identify and resolve issues
  • Manage repair and maintenance budgets, inventory, and spare parts
  • Assist with decommissioning and offshoring of equipment
  • Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of reliable equipment and processes
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to achieve wider business goals

Skills & Experience:
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on mechanical/electrical experience (manufacturing preferred)
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong background in troubleshooting, fault finding, and root cause analysis
  • Exposure to facilities management is highly advantageous
  • Familiarity with plant maintenance systems (ERP/MRP)
  • Solid understanding of QA, EHS standards, GMP, and GDP
