Join a newly formed Digital Innovation team and play a key role in shaping the future data strategy of a growing Australian manufacturing business. Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, you'll be the first dedicated hire in a team that will expand significantly over the coming years, leading the modernisation of a legacy data environment into Microsoft Fabric and supporting a major Dynamics 365 transformation.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has successfully modernised data platforms before and enjoys working across both strategy and delivery. You'll partner with stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Service, Finance and Technology to structure and catalogue data, build scalable reporting and analytics capabilities, and develop predictive models that drive commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the transition from a legacy data warehouse environment to Microsoft Fabric
  • Build scalable data models, pipelines and reporting solutions
  • Develop forecasting, optimisation and machine learning models
  • Translate complex data into actionable business recommendations
  • Gather requirements, influence stakeholders and drive adoption of new ways of working
  • Improve data quality, governance and self-service reporting capabilities
What we're looking for:
  • Experience delivering data platform modernisation projects using Microsoft Fabric and/or Snowflake
  • Strong Python or R, SQL and data engineering capability
  • Experience building data warehouses, ELT/ETL pipelines and semantic models
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to operate in a hands-on, evolving environment where you can shape the roadmap
  • Experience with Dynamics 365, Power BI, Azure or industrial/manufacturing environments is advantageous
What's on offer:
  • Opportunity to be the foundational hire in a growing Digital Innovation function
  • High visibility role working directly with executive leadership
  • Long-term transformation program spanning ERP, data and AI initiatives
  • Clayton location, office-based during probation with one day from home thereafter
Please note, applicants must be Melbourne-based and hold unrestricted Australian working rights. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
