PM Operations Manager

Location: brisbane
Salary: $100000 - $115000 per annum
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Anthony Branch
Distribution Centre | Brisbane Western Suburbs| Full-time, on-site

Our client is a large, well-established national distribution business supplying trade and industrial customers across Australia. As part of a broader operational transformation — lifting productivity, standardising practices across sites, and elevating leadership capability on the floor — they're looking for an experienced operations leader to take ownership of their PM shift.
This is a confidential search. Suitable applicants will be contacted directly before any client details are shared.

The Role Reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Manager, you'll lead all PM shift warehouse activity — receiving, replenishment, inventory, picking, packing and dispatch — for a team of around a dozen staff. You'll be the shift's senior operational leader, responsible for labour planning, performance against KPIs (productivity, accuracy, service levels, on-time dispatch), safety compliance, and building leadership capability below you, including developing an existing supervisor and a high-potential informal team leader into stronger operators.

This is a genuine leadership role, not a caretaker supervisor position. You'll be expected to stabilise the shift, embed new processes coming from interstate best practice, and bring structure to an environment that's still maturing.

Hours: PM shift, operating 2:00pm–10:00pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime during volume spikes.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading and coordinating end-to-end PM shift operations, with a growing focus on replenishment and receiving over picking
  • Building and executing daily labour plans against volume, budget and productivity targets
  • Owning shift KPIs — lines per hour, accuracy, service levels, on-time-in-full dispatch — and driving corrective action where needed
  • Managing people: performance conversations, attendance management, investigations, coaching and development
  • Liaising across Customer Service, Inventory, Transport and Planning to resolve operational issues
  • Investigating and resolving operational issues — discrepancies, damaged stock, complaints
  • Championing safety culture and WHS compliance, including incident reporting and MHE oversight
  • Developing the shift's supervisors and emerging leaders
  • Driving continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality and service
What We're Looking For
  • 3–5+ years leading a shift or a strong, sizeable team in a warehouse, DC or logistics environment
  • Strong people leadership — comfortable with hard conversations, performance management and coaching
  • Solid understanding of WHS/OH&S obligations in a warehouse setting
  • Experience in a complex, high-service operational environment
  • Automation exposure is a bonus, not a requirement — technical/automation support sits with a separate team
  • Candidates from smaller or less structured operations are genuinely welcome, particularly those used to running their own patch in a manual or paper-based environment
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working autonomously through ambiguity and change
What's On Offer
  • $100,000–$115,000 (inclusive of leave loading) + Superannuation
  • A genuine leadership role with a clear path to greater scope and seniority as the site's operating structure evolves
  • The chance to shape a shift's culture and practices rather than simply maintain the status quo
