Content & PR Manager

Location: brisbane
Salary: Competitive
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Alexandria Craig
Are you a PR, content and social specialist who knows how to turn cultural moments into brand moments?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading ANZ consumer brand in a highly visible Content & PR role, sitting within a fast-paced, creative and commercially driven marketing team. You will play a key role in bringing proactive PR, earned media and content-led storytelling to life across Australia and New Zealand. This role will suit someone who is genuinely plugged into culture, understands how brands show up across social and media, and enjoys moving quickly from idea to execution.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Social & Content ANZ, this role will take ownership of proactive PR and earned media activity, while also supporting organic social, creator partnerships, content creation and broader brand storytelling. You will work closely with internal marketing, brand, digital, production, design and legal/compliance teams, as well as external agencies, creators and media partners.

The role will be hands-on, fast-moving and highly creative. You will be encouraged to bring ideas forward, identify opportunities in the market and help shape how the brand shows up across media, social and cultural conversations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive proactive PR opportunities across brand, product, food and cultural moments
  • Build and manage strong media and publication relationships
  • Identify low-budget, high-impact earned media ideas that create attention
  • Support PR and content activity around brand campaigns and key calendar moments
  • Work with creators, agencies and internal teams to bring content ideas to life
  • Support organic social content, reactive trends and always-on storytelling
  • Help assess which trends are right for the brand and which should be left alone
  • Brief content, creator and production requirements where needed
  • Support localisation across Australia and New Zealand
  • Understand brand risk, reputation and compliance considerations
  • Support senior stakeholder updates and executive content where required
About You
You will likely come from a fast-paced consumer environment where creativity, pace, commercial judgement and stakeholder management are all part of your day-to-day. Relevant backgrounds may include QSR, retail, FMCG, consumer goods, agency, entertainment, sport, gaming or other high-volume consumer categories.
You may be agency-side and ready to move client-side, or already working in-house within a highly visible consumer brand. Either way, you will need to bring strong proactive PR capability, a solid understanding of organic social and the confidence to pitch ideas that are creative, relevant and commercially sensible.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven PR, media relations or external communications experience
  • Strong understanding of organic social, content and creator-led activity
  • Ability to spot culturally relevant opportunities and move quickly
  • Confidence developing proactive earned media ideas
  • Strong judgement around brand, legal, reputational and compliance risk
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to execute, not just strategise
  • Comfortable working in a reactive, fast-paced consumer environment
  • Ability to influence, challenge and bring ideas forward constructively
  • Experience working with creators, agencies, media or internal content teams
  • A practical, low-budget, high-impact mindset

Culture & Environment
This is a supportive, collaborative and energetic marketing team that moves quickly and genuinely values creativity. It is not a slow corporate environment, so you will need to be comfortable with changing priorities, reactive opportunities and a high volume of activity.

The right person will enjoy pace, variety and autonomy. You will be someone who brings ideas to the table, understands what is commercially and legally workable, and can balance creativity with strong judgement.
