The Organisation
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation operating within a very niche sector. Experiencing significant growth, the business has ambitious plans to increase its scale five-fold over the next three years while continuing to strengthen its commercial capability. With a new executive leadership team driving change, the organisation is investing in building stronger commercial foundations across the business. Procurement will be a newly created function and represents a genuine opportunity to establish best practice, influence key business decisions, and build capability from the ground up.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, this newly created Procurement Manager position will establish and lead the organisation's procurement capability across all spend categories. Working in a greenfield environment, you'll identify opportunities to optimise spend, improve supplier performance, implement contract management processes, and develop the governance required to support a rapidly growing business. Rather than inheriting an established procurement function, you'll have the opportunity to shape how procurement operates and becomes a strategic commercial partner to the business. The portfolio includes a diverse range of indirect spend categories including property and leases, IT, travel, professional services, marketing, facilities, medical equipment and other corporate expenditure.

Key areas of focus include:
  • Developing procurement, contract management and supplier relationship management frameworks from the ground up.
  • Reviewing existing supplier contracts, identifying commercial opportunities, and leading strategic sourcing and negotiation activities.
  • Building a centralised contract management process, including renewal planning, governance and supplier performance management.
  • Partnering closely with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial value while supporting a fast-growing and evolving organisation.
  • Using spend analytics and commercial insights to prioritise opportunities and drive better procurement outcomes.
Skills and Experience Required

You'll be an experienced procurement professional who enjoys building capability rather than simply maintaining established processes. Comfortable operating in an evolving environment, you'll combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and be confident rolling up your sleeves to get things done. You'll bring strong commercial acumen, contract negotiation skills and experience implementing procurement processes, governance and supplier management practices. Experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, together with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, will be key to your success. A background within healthcare, clinical research or life sciences would be advantageous, however it isn't essential. More important is your ability to operate autonomously, adapt to changing priorities, and establish procurement as a trusted commercial function within the business.

What's on Offer
  • Newly created greenfield procurement role with the opportunity to build the function from the ground up.
  • High level exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to influence commercial strategy across a growing organisation.
  • Long-term career opportunity within a business investing heavily in growth, capability and its people.
