The Project Engineer (Electrical Power Distribution) is a newly created role to help facilitate growth. We're open to a range of backgrounds. You may be an Electrical Engineer, Project Engineer, Design Engineer or an experienced electrician who has successfully transitioned into an engineering or corporate environment. You must have experience in the low-voltage power distribution space and an understanding of AS61439 / AS3000.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll become the technical expert supporting customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. You'll combine engineering expertise, commercial awareness and project coordination to deliver practical, compliant solutions that help win and deliver complex projects.


About the Role:
This is a newly created position offering a unique blend of application engineering, project management and technical customer support. You'll typically manage 4–5 projects at any one time, working independently while collaborating closely with Sales, Estimating, Production, Product Management and Project Operations to ensure successful project delivery.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing project specifications, drawings and single line diagrams
  • Developing compliant low-voltage switchboard solutions in accordance with Australian Standards
  • Providing technical advice throughout tendering, design, project execution and commissioning
  • Working directly with builders, consultants, contractors and project engineers to resolve technical challenges
  • Supporting project conversion through practical engineering solutions and technical presentations
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, product development and engineering capability across the business

You'll bring:
  • Around 5–7 years' experience within electrical engineering, switchboards, power distribution or project engineering
  • Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439
  • The ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and single line diagrams
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A proactive, energetic and solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to manage multiple projects while working with a high level of autonomy
