Business Overview
An established Australian business operating across the construction, civil infrastructure and industrial sectors is looking for a commercially minded Trade Marketing Manager to join its growing marketing function.
The business has a significant national footprint, combining distribution, manufacturing and retail to provide customers with products and solutions across the lifecycle of a job. Their offering spans across safety, signage, tools, hardware, PPE, uniforms, temporary fencing, underground products and broader job-site consumables.
The organisation is evolving from a traditional product-supplier model towards becoming a solution partner for its customers, creating an exciting opportunity for a marketer to help shape how the business goes to market.

This is a highly hands-on role sitting at the intersection of Marketing, Sales and Category.
You’ll take ownership of the national trade marketing strategy and translate commercial opportunities into campaigns that drive revenue, customer engagement and category growth.
You’ll work closely with Category Managers, BDMs and Trade Sales to understand customer needs, identify opportunities and develop campaigns that go beyond simply promoting individual products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a national trade marketing and communications plan across key categories and customer segments.
  • Partner with Category Managers to identify commercial opportunities and turn them into campaigns.
  • Work closely with Sales and BDM teams to understand customer needs, priorities and market opportunities.
  • Own campaigns end-to-end, from planning and briefing through to execution, localisation and reporting.
  • Develop solution-led campaigns that bundle relevant products around customer needs and job requirements.
  • Build and execute EDM campaigns through HubSpot, using customer and CRM data to target relevant audiences.
  • Support customer segmentation and ongoing improvement of marketing data.
  • Identify opportunities for lead-generation tools, calculators, product selectors and other digital resources.
  • Support new product launches across landing pages, content, campaign assets and sales enablement.
  • Manage point-of-sale and visual merchandising across a national branch/trade network.
  • Adapt national campaigns for local markets, projects and customer requirements.
  • Develop sales enablement materials that help commercial teams communicate products and solutions effectively.
  • Track campaign performance, optimise activity and demonstrate commercial ROI.
Must Haves:
  • Experience in B2B, trade, industrial, construction, building products, manufacturing, distribution or a similar environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of how marketing contributes to revenue.
  • Experience working closely with Sales, Category/Product and other commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong CRM and data capability, ideally including HubSpot and Salesforce.
  • Hands-on EDM/email marketing experience.
  • Experience developing and executing integrated campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for creative execution.
  • The ability to translate complex products into clear, customer-focused solutions.
  • A data-led approach to campaign planning and optimisation.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, accountable approach with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to join a lean, commercially focused marketing team where you’ll have genuine ownership and visibility.
Rather than simply managing agencies or briefing campaigns, you’ll be close to the commercial action, working directly with Sales and Category teams and taking campaigns from strategy through to execution and measurement.
If you’re a hands-on marketer looking for greater ownership, commercial exposure and the opportunity to help transform how a large Australian business approaches trade marketing, this could be an excellent next step.
