We are partnering with a growing Australian FMCG business to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of its end-to-end operational and supply chain function.
This is a genuinely hands-on leadership role where you will have broad responsibility across demand planning, international shipping, inventory, warehousing, transport, customer fulfilment and compliance.
 
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a small team and work closely with suppliers, logistics providers, sales, finance and senior leadership to ensure products are available when required, customers are serviced effectively and the operation continues to scale.
 
What you'll be responsible for
  • Lead and develop a small supply chain and warehouse team.
  • Own end-to-end customer fulfilment from order through to delivery.
  • Manage inventory, demand planning and supplier coordination.
  • Oversee the Victorian warehouse and manage the Queensland 3PL.
  • Coordinate overseas purchasing, containers, freight forwarding and customs clearance.
  • Manage transport providers, including tenders and freight rate optimisation.
  • Monitor container arrivals, shipment readiness and potential delays.
  • Own landed-cost reconciliation and container inspection processes.
  • Manage EDI processes with key customers.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and drive operational efficiencies through systems and technology.
  • Own DIFOT performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with FSANZ requirements, allergen management and product labelling regulations.
  • Manage product labelling, artwork, approvals and associated record keeping.
  • Act as a key escalation point for customer and operational issues.
  • Develop team capability, performance and engagement.
 
About you
You will be an experienced Operations or Supply Chain Manager who enjoys being close to the operation rather than managing from a distance.
 
You will ideally bring:
  • 5+ years' experience in operations or supply chain leadership.
  • FMCG and/or retail experience.
  • Proven people leadership and development capability.
  • Strong operational systems and process knowledge.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with importing goods and international supply chains.
  • EDI experience would be advantageous.
  • A flexible, hands-on approach suited to a growing entrepreneurial business.
 
Most importantly, you will be someone who leads from the front. You are commercially minded, highly organised, and analytical, but equally comfortable getting into the detail and "getting in the trenches" when required.
