Operations Manager

Location: melbourne
Salary: Highly attractive package and STI.
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Carl Stephen
We are partnering with a leading foodservice business to appoint an Operations Manager to take end-to-end ownership of warehouse, dispatch and transport operations across a multi-shift environment.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a genuine senior leadership role where you'll bring warehouse, dispatch and transport together as one connected operation, ensuring every order is picked, packed, dispatched, and delivered as promised, going that extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.

The opportunity:
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys improving an operation, not simply managing it.

You'll lead the operational rhythm across the business, working closely with warehouse and transport leaders to deliver exceptional DIFOTIS performance while improving productivity, controlling cost and creating a high-performing frontline culture.

Your focus will include:
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of warehouse, dispatch and transport across all shifts.
  • Leading, developing and holding operational leaders and frontline teams accountable.
  • Owning DIFOTIS, order accuracy, delivery performance and customer outcomes.
  • Optimising labour, rostering, vehicle utilisation, routing and third-party freight.
  • Driving continuous improvement across picking, loading, routing and delivery.
  • Using operational data and KPIs to identify and attack the biggest service and cost opportunities.
  • Ensuring strong standards across OH&S, HACCP, PrimeSafe, Chain of Responsibility and food safety.
  • Building a safe, engaged and accountable operational culture.

What we're looking for:
You'll be an experienced operations leader with a track record of running multi-shift warehouse, dispatch and transport operations, ideally within FMCG, foodservice or temperature-controlled environments.

You'll bring:
  • 5+ years' senior operations, warehouse or logistics leadership experience.
  • Proven end-to-end operational accountability from warehouse through to final delivery.
  • Strong commercial acumen across labour, freight, fleet and cost-to-serve.
  • Experience leading and developing frontline teams and operational leaders.
  • A strong continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset.
  • Confidence using warehouse, routing/scheduling systems and operational reporting to drive decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian transport, food safety and workplace safety requirements.
  • The leadership presence to be visible across the operation, not desk-bound.

What will make you successful?
You'll be someone who takes ownership, challenges the status quo and isn't afraid to get into the detail.
You'll know that great operations aren't built from a spreadsheet — they're built by being close to the team, understanding what is actually happening on the floor, fixing problems at their source and creating accountability around performance.

If you're an operational leader looking for genuine ownership and the opportunity to make a measurable difference across an entire operation, we'd like to hear from you.
