Our client is an Australia-wide retailer under the umbrella of a large Australian conglomerate. They are looking for an interim contractor for this 6 month contract role based in the southeast suburbs, near Chadstone. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with a known brand in market.
About the role
My client is looking for some interim support for 6 months. The role has three direct reports and reports to the GM Finance.
Your responsibilities will include leadership and management of the finance team which includes the three direct reports including the Financial Control Manager, Finance Banking Manager and the AP/AR Lead and a team of 40. This includes managing finance disciplines, including financial operations, reporting, governance, controls, planning, analysis, and process optimisation.
This individual needs to have a strong focus on process improvement, automation, simplification, and reduction. The role involves managing the transformation of hundreds of tasks to India, focusing on simplification and automation, potentially using AI and Claude, as roles are offshored. The role involves working hand-in-glove with the new Financial Controller based in India when they arrive in January to execute the transformation.
We are looking for an established Financial Controller with strong leadership and experience in a transformation agenda environment, particularly direct exposure to transitioning work to offshore environments.
Experience in a large business with high volume is important and retail industry experience are highly desirable.
