About the company
Our client is a well-established Australian business operating across multiple entities within a complex group structure. The business has a strong market presence and is continuing to invest in its people, systems and processes as it looks to strengthen its operations. The finance team plays an important role in this next stage, with a focus on improving controls, reporting and processes across the wider business.

About the role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Group Accountant will be a key right-hand person across accounting, reporting, systems and controls. You’ll take ownership of month-end, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, year-end, audit and compliance. You’ll work across multiple entities, including consolidation and intercompany transactions, while partnering with IT and the wider business to improve reporting, streamline processes and reduce reliance on manual Excel workarounds. This is a hands-on role with genuine scope to step up towards a Finance Manager or Financial Controller position.

About you

You’ll be a CA/CPA qualified accountant with strong technical accounting experience, ideally with an accounting firm background and exposure to complex group structures. You’ll be a genuine accounting all-rounder with strong systems and process improvement capability. Experience with Business Central is highly regarded, while Power BI or Phocas exposure would be advantageous. Most importantly, you’ll be proactive, hands-on and commercially minded, with the confidence to identify issues, improve processes and take ownership of delivering accurate results.
