Content Specialist / Technical Copywriter (Contract short term)

The Opportunity
Our client is a private health insurer with a strong connection to the Australian Defence community. It supports serving personnel, veterans and their families, and focuses on making health cover easier to understand and use. The organisation is building partnerships with Defence organisations and community groups. It needs an experienced Content Specialist for an initial two-month engagement to develop educational health and insurance content for those partners. The focus is on useful, credible content that builds trust with the Defence community. It isn't promotional work.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing a reusable content bank across approximately 15 health and insurance topics
  • Writing website, landing page and newsletter content
  • Turning complex health insurance information into clear, practical guidance
  • Tailoring content for different audiences, including serving personnel, veterans and families
  • Working with subject matter experts to make sure content is accurate and appropriately qualified
  • Managing drafts, feedback and approvals across internal teams and external partner organisations
What They're Looking For
  • Experience as a content specialist, technical copywriter or communications writer
  • Confidence interviewing subject matter experts and turning their knowledge into structured educational content
  • A clear, measured writing style that suits a trusted, understated brand
  • Experience in health, insurance, financial services, membership organisations or other regulated environments
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver a defined body of work to a short timeframe
