General Manager - Transport Company in Casino, NSW

Location: Remote
Salary: $140000 - $160000 per annum
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Anthony Branch
The business

A family-owned Northern Rivers group runs a national refrigerated transport operation with around 40 reefer trailers, including subcontractor capacity, servicing Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and regional customers. In December 2026 it opens a new cold storage warehouse with around 1,000 pallet spaces and blast freezing. You'd be running the proven transport business and building the new warehouse side from the ground up.

The role

You'll own the P&L for both transport and cold storage, reporting to the Managing Director. It's a hands-on commercial and operational job.
  • Set growth strategy, annual plans and budgets
  • Own pricing, including route pricing and fuel levies, and the customer relationships behind it
  • Run daily operations across fleet, warehouse and inventory
  • Lead NHVR, Chain of Responsibility and HVNL compliance
  • Drive better systems and reporting, including a future TMS replacement
  • Build and lead the operations, driver, admin and warehouse teams, and guide a planned leadership transition in trucking
About you
  • Senior leadership in refrigerated transport or logistics, with full P&L ownership
  • Strong working knowledge of heavy vehicle compliance (NHVR, CoR, HVNL)
  • Commercial instinct: you've priced routes and managed fuel levy structures
  • Experience leading systems or digitisation projects, ideally TMS
  • Comfortable working alongside an engaged, hands-on owner
  • Willing to relocate to Casino, NSW
  • Full Australian work rights are required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Bonus points for cold storage or 3PL, food or FMCG, and HACCP or SQF knowledge
What's on offer
Circa $150,000 + super + bonus. Potential relocation support to Northern NSW. Real ownership of a business with room to grow.
