Marketing Manager | Acquisition & Growth

Melbourne CBD | 3-Month Contract | Immediate Start | $160k + Super

We're partnering with a well-established membership organisation in Melbourne's CBD to recruit an experienced Marketing Manager for an initial three-month contract, with the potential to extend.

With ambitious membership growth targets, the business is looking for a commercially minded marketer who can take ownership of its acquisition strategy, identify opportunities for growth and deliver creative, targeted initiatives that attract new members. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys combining data-driven decision-making with creative campaign development. You'll be working with a modest marketing budget, so the ability to think laterally, maximise existing channels and deliver measurable outcomes will be essential.

The Role
Reporting into senior leadership and supported by junior team members, you'll take responsibility for developing and executing a targeted member acquisition strategy.
Your initial focus will be understanding the existing membership base, acquisition channels and customer journey to identify where the greatest opportunities for growth exist.
From there, you'll develop and deliver initiatives across three key areas:
  • Local area marketing: Develop targeted campaigns and activations that connect with Melbourne's CBD workforce, building awareness and encouraging new membership enquiries.
  • Member engagement and referrals: Identify opportunities to leverage the existing membership base, strengthen advocacy and generate new members through referral initiatives and personalised engagement.
  • Digital and performance marketing: Plan and optimise targeted digital and social campaigns that generate qualified leads and convert prospective members.
You'll also have the opportunity to develop and execute a small number of high-impact campaigns, events or activations designed to generate interest, increase engagement and drive new member acquisition.

About You
We're looking for an experienced Marketing Manager with a strong background in customer acquisition, membership growth or commercially focused marketing. Ideally, you'll bring:
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing acquisition or growth marketing strategies.
  • Experience within membership-based, hospitality, lifestyle, fitness, leisure, events or sporting organisations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret customer data, identify opportunities and translate insights into actionable campaigns.
  • Experience delivering local area marketing initiatives, partnerships, events or customer activations.
  • A sound understanding of digital and performance marketing channels, including lead generation and conversion optimisation.
  • A creative, resourceful approach to delivering results with limited budgets.
  • The ability to move comfortably between strategic planning and hands-on execution, while providing direction to junior team members.
You'll be proactive, commercially focused and comfortable working in an environment where results matter. Importantly, you'll know how to prioritise activity that delivers genuine acquisition outcomes rather than simply generating awareness.

What's on Offer
  • Initial three-month contract with potential to extend.
  • Salary equivalent of approximately $160,000 + superannuation.
  • Melbourne CBD location.
  • Immediate start.
  • Ownership of a key commercial growth initiative.
  • Support from two junior marketing team members.
  • Opportunity to make a measurable impact within an established membership organisation.
