Safety Manager - Automated Distribution Centre
Six Degrees have partnered with a leading retail and supply chain business to recruit a Safety Manager for its new, state-of-the-art automated distribution centre in Moorebank. The role is the lead for safety on site.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape safety at one of the largest automated distribution centres in NSW. It has initially been approved as a Fixed Term Contract until June 2028 (20 months from the date of posting) with the potential to transition to a permanent position as the site becomes operational.

You’ll establish the safety framework and culture for a highly automated operation. With around 500 people on site and planned throughput of up to one million cartons per day, this is a complex, fast-paced environment where safety leadership will make a real difference. You’ll lead safety strategy and implementation as the site prepares for operation.

You’ll establish the safety framework and culture for a highly automated operation. You’ll lead safety strategy and implementation as the site prepares for operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing safety systems, governance and processes from the ground up.
- Managing risks across automated and manual warehouse operations, including AGVs, AMRs and material handling equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with NSW WHS legislation and relevant Australian Standards.
- Coaching operational leaders and building a culture of safety ownership.
- Overseeing incident investigations, risk assessments and corrective actions.
- Driving continuous improvement through audits, reporting and safety performance data.
About you:
You’re a hands-on safety leader who can engage with teams on the floor, influence senior stakeholders and make decisions in a high-pressure operational environment.
You’ll bring:
- 8+ years’ experience in safety across logistics, warehousing, supply chain, FMCG or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and machinery safety.
- Experience across automated and manual warehouse operations.
- Proven stakeholder management, coaching and influencing skills.
- Strong risk management, incident investigation and continuous improvement capability.
- A Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health and Safety.
- Greenfield experience or involvement in a major automation project will be highly regarded.
