Finance Business Partner - Queensland Regional Location
About the company
Our client is a well-established Australian food producer with operations across farming, processing and supply. Their business covers every stage of production, giving their people exposure to a wide and varied operation. The culture is practical and down to earth, shaped by people who work hands-on in the field, and the team values getting things done. It is a business that backs its people to take ownership, find better ways of working and grow with the organisation.
About the role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager Farming, you will be the on-site finance partner to the General Manager and farm leadership teams in this newly created role, based at one of the business’s key farming and processing sites. You will own month-end, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and capex tracking for your area, keep inventory and biological asset models accurate, and support the processing leads on site.
Business partnering sits at the centre of the role. You will work with operational leaders to understand the key cost drivers across the farm, including feed, labour and energy, and explain cost per kg, write-off rates and variances to budget in plain language through weekly meetings and monthly commercial updates. You will model scenarios to support stocking, harvest and production decisions, help build business cases for capital investment, and contribute to the farming savings program by identifying and tracking cost reductions. You will also improve processes, reporting and data quality, with the chance to build your skills in Power BI and Snowflake along the way.
About you
You are a hands-on finance professional with experience in manufacturing, processing or agribusiness accounting, ideally including inventory and cost reporting. You enjoy detailed work, have strong Excel skills and take pride in numbers that are right, and you are keen to grow your capability in Power BI and Snowflake. You are at home in an operational setting, talk as easily with a shift supervisor as with a GM, and can explain financial results clearly to people outside finance. You will be based on site, so you are either already living in Proserpine or the surrounding areas, or open to relocating there for the right opportunity.
