Following the acquisition of Barbecues Galore, ACOM is entering an exciting phase of growth. With established brands, expanding product ranges and multiple sales channels, the business is looking to strengthen its planning capability and build more effective ways of managing stock.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working beyond the numbers — combining analytical capability with commercial judgement to improve availability, manage inventory investment and support better purchasing decisions.

The opportunityWorking across Barbecues Galore, Bush Tracks and Ossa, you'll play a key role in bringing a more structured, forward-looking approach to merchandise and inventory planning.

The business operates across wholesale and direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels, creating a need for greater visibility of demand, stock requirements and purchasing priorities. You'll help ensure inventory is positioned where it's needed, balancing availability across channels while managing working capital and the risk of excess stock.

You'll bring the commercial insight and planning expertise needed to challenge forecasts, account for changing demand and turn data into practical decisions. There is also an opportunity to help shape the planning processes, reporting and ways of working as the business continues to scale.
Key responsibilities
  • Demand planning and forecasting: Develop a forward-looking view of demand, using sales history, seasonality, promotions, product performance and commercial input.
  • Inventory and replenishment: Translate forecasts into purchasing recommendations, ensuring the right products are available at the right time and in the right quantities.
  • Stock availability: Identify potential stockouts and excess inventory early, taking a proactive approach to replenishment and stock cover.
  • Channel allocation: Improve coordination of inventory across wholesale and D2C channels, balancing competing requirements and commercial priorities.
  • Purchasing and stock investment: Provide visibility of upcoming purchasing requirements and monthly stock spend to support cash flow and working capital management.
  • Planning process improvement: Develop practical planning processes, reporting and performance measures that can evolve as the business grows.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with buyers, marketing, warehouse and leadership to align purchasing decisions with demand, promotional activity and new product introductions.
  • Continuous improvement: Challenge existing assumptions, identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and help build a more disciplined planning environment.
About you

You'll ideally bring:
  • Experience in forecasting, replenishment and inventory management across a varied product range.
  • A strong understanding of stock cover, purchasing cycles, seasonal demand and inventory investment.
  • The ability to balance stock availability with working capital and excess inventory risk.
  • Confidence working with buyers and commercial stakeholders to influence purchasing decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop useful reporting and planning processes.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the initiative to improve how things are done.
  • The flexibility to operate in a growing business where systems and processes are still developing.
