About the business

Our client has roughly doubled its tonnage over the last five years. They’re an Australian food ingredients business that imports around 70% of its product from the US, Europe and New Zealand, with 80 to 90 containers landing every month. Their logistics network spans 22 third-party warehouses across Australia and New Zealand, along with chilled storage partners and more than a dozen transport carriers.

Role

This is a new role in the supply chain team, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager and working closely with the Procurement Coordinator. You’ll oversee the international supply chain from purchase order through to delivery, and keep the 3PL network performing to its service levels. You’ll work in Microsoft Dynamics 365, CRM tools, Excel, 3PL tracking systems and AI tools.
You’ll be based in the company’s inner Brisbane office and can work from home two days a week. The role includes occasional interstate travel.

Responsibilities
  • Manage purchase orders with international suppliers, from order confirmation and shipping documents through to receipt
  • Track live container movements, resolve freight exceptions every day, and keep internal teams updated on arrivals and delays
  • Manage day-to-day relationships and SLA performance across warehouse and transport partners
  • Act as the escalation point for 3PL and delivery issues raised by customer service, and resolve them before customers are affected
  • Coordinate stocktake reconciliations and keep purchase order and inventory records accurate
  • Prepare monthly reports on freight, warehousing and stock accuracy, and check logistics invoices against agreed rates
  • Flag supply shortages and risks
  • Look for ways to improve 3PL partnerships and support the team’s process automation work
About you
  • You have around three to five years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, 3PL coordination, or account management and customer service
  • You’ve worked with 3PL providers, warehouses or freight partners
  • You have strong attention to detail and solid Excel skills, and you’re open to new technology
  • You build strong working relationships and you’re comfortable picking up the phone to fix a problem
  • You’re resilient, self-motivated and suited to an active, inclusive and social team
  • You want a role you can grow into and own over the next few years
Experience with Dynamics 365, imports or shipping documentation will help. Food or FMCG supply chain experience is a bonus, and candidates from other industries are encouraged to apply.

Benefits include an annual wellness allowance, weekly CrossFit classes, a stocked drinks fridge, fresh fruit and snacks, and quarterly culture days. The office has onsite parking and is a short walk from a train station.
