About the Company
A high quality, potato manufacturer based in SE Melbourne. This business is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team in one of two production facilities.

About the Role
 
Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of processing and packaging equipment is maintained by line employees. Monitors raw product flow from bays and bins, through packaging; performing product evaluations; controlling waste; daily housekeeping; cleaning plant equipment and assisting other employees in trouble shooting and problem solving.
 
You will need to ensure all equipment is operated safely and in a manner that optimizes performance while ensuring product quality specifications are being met. This position will be required to work any shift and/or any day of the week in accordance with production schedules.

Duties:
  • Ensuring the effective operation of processing and packaging equipment is maintained by line employees.
  • Equipment includes steam Peelers, cutting systems, blanchers, dryer, fryer and related equipment to optimise performance to meet product specification. Adjusts or causes adjustments to be made as necessary
  • Monitor’s production to ensure that safety, quality and cost standards are maintained. Develops short interval action plans to address variance
  • Alerts Management to any conditions, which may jeopardize product quality, line efficiency or safety
  • Identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves the issues
  • Monitors condition and effectiveness of processing equipment; directs staff to conduct repairs on shift to meet plant goals as needed, communicates to Management about any needed equipment repair not able to complete on shift
  • Shuts line down as necessary, notifies maintenance or appropriate personnel of problem areas and records the associated downtime
  • Monitors, audits and enforces company work rules, including G.M.P.'s and safety guidelines and personal protective equipment
  • Collects data during and at the end of shift to complete required paperwork, which may include shift reports and timecards

 
Skills & Experience
This is an exciting and integral role within the business for future growth and your experience and skill set will include the following:
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Production Supervisor within FMCG
  • Ensures effective leadership aptitude, communication and reasoning skills are being applied to Company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Must be able to accurately read, interpret comply and enforce safety documentation, instruction manuals and Company policy and procedures
  • Ability to positively contribute to relevant projects, acts as project lead as required
  • Must have a high attention to detail
