About the Company
A family-owned business who specialise in packaging foil trays & containers which has been in existence for over 50 years. This business is looking for a Project Engineer/Manager to join their team to work on end-to-end projects across the manufacturing facility.

About the Role

The Project Engineer/Manager who reports into the Head of Operations & their role is to establish and drive a robust project management process in the execution of all capital projects. The role is responsible for the project management and execution of all allocated projects in disciplined way, ensuring project metrics including safety, budget, schedule, quality, and compliance are achieved.
  • Manage the execution of allocated projects in accordance with the agreed objectives in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Lead/Support Operations with Continuous Improvement projects leading to OEE improvements
  • In delivery of projects, liaise with Operations and the OH&S Co-ordinator to ensure facilities are fit for purpose and, as far as reasonably practicable, employees are not exposed to risk or work-related harm.
  • Promote safety awareness and lead by example
  • Liaise with relevant Operations employees at all to ensure projects account for identified current and future process requirements and / or improve product and process quality and reliability as applicable
  • Ensure all projects are delivered as per the approved budget and cash-flow forecast
  • Complete all defined reports in an accurate and timely manner and provide insightful analysis of any variances.

Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Process Engineering
  • Formal project management training – accreditation preferred
  • Previous experience in operations and workflow analysis within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record in delivering projects large and small within scope, budget and on time, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in integrated cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles eg. 5S, Kanban, Visual management techniques.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement principle and practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organisation
  • Technical report writing skills desirable
