Commercial Analyst

Reporting to the Manager - Projects & Operations Analysis, this position will business partner with senior stakeholders - NSW/QLD/VIC business units by providing analytical support and business insights.
Role Purpose
· Partner with Commercial Finance Managers across NSW, VIC and QLD in decision support, planning, operational performance management and formulation, implementation and execution of business strategies.
· Oversee the Forecast Cost At Completion models (FCAC) across the project streams and ensuring appropriate controls are in place. This role, in particular, develops and leads the FCAC update and review process for the QLD projects.
· Work collaboratively across the wider finance, commercial and operational teams to determine priorities, manage performance and continuously develop the function.
· Drive the implementation and improvement of internal financial practices.
· Continuously improve and adapt the financial models to align with business needs.
Role Accountabilities
· Business partnering through providing modelling and analytical support for the team.
· A continued focus on project revenue recognition, project costs, aged debtors, Work in Progress (WIP) profile, project variations and margin management.
· Ensure general compliance with accounting standards, tax laws regulations and all compliance reporting.
· A continuous focus on commerciality with a view to maximise revenue and cost-out opportunities.
· Development of financial and analytical models to support decision making.
· Provision of ad-hoc support and advice.
