About the Company
I am currently working with several food & packaging business who are looking for Maintenance Supervisors/Leads. These businesses are looking preferably looking for dual electrical/mechanical trades experience but would be open to one or the other. These positions are located in both the Northern & South-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

About the Role
You will be working hands on, and collaboratively with others to maintain and achieve a systematic maintenance program that drives Safety and Quality standards and high levels of operational performance on all site machinery and plant. You must have a clear understanding and awareness of the impact of engineering/trade support on the ability to support the production teams to meet/exceed business objectives/targets. You must be fully aware of and to effectively implement Quality, GMP, Health and Safety and Hygiene standards when performing maintenance tasks.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • To provide full trade (mechanical/electrical) support to the site Production teams to ensure that operational targets are met.
  • To co-operate with the production/technical teams to resolve maintenance and reliability related issues in a controlled/logical and professional manner.
  • To proactively and methodically diagnose machine and system faults on production equipment and resolve issues in the most expedient and cost-effective manner.
  • Deliver as a member of the Operations Team optimal levels of performance by utilising continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • To support the site with effective management of 3rd  party contractors (inductions, permits, JSA’s, etc), CAPEX, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • To actively take part in machine trials, validation work, continuous improvement, and other LEAN projects
  • To report where appropriate, the findings of any machinery/process problems to the Operations Leadership team.
 
Skills & Experience
This is an exciting and integral role within the business for future growth and your experience and skill set will include the following:
  • A minimum of 3 year’s Engineering or Maintenance experience ideally gained within FMCG or high speed/volume production environment.
  • Proven experience of mechanical, electrical, PLC’s and an understanding of control systems.
  • Formal training in CI/LEAN techniques would be advantageous.
  • A proven track record in a trade role with strong electrical and/ or mechanical skills.
  • Capability in creative/logical problem solving/breakdown and root cause analysis and rectification.
  • Ability to appropriately manage tasks and priorities whilst under pressure without compromising safety or product quality.
  • An effective communicator with strong oral and written communication abilities, used to working with a culturally diverse workforce.
  • IT proficient.
