Due to a new growth and innovation phase, they have created this new role in order to ensure effective procurement processes and oversight throughout the company.
About the role
Reporting into the Operations Director, this newly created role will manage the procurement function and procure raw materials, finished goods, utilities and other indirect services in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for streamlining procurement processes, and contributing to strategic objectives through cost reduction and skilled negotiations. You will manage the materials planning process alongside managing a team of two.
Key responsibilities
• Procuring raw materials, finished goods and services from local and international suppliers in a timely and cost-effective method, while meeting rigorous quality requirements
• Building strong relationships with suppliers locally and internationally
• Providing analytics to identify cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities
• Working with key internal stakeholders to design and establish streamlined procurement processes across the business
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the purchasing/procurement efficiencies
• Managing a team of two – Business Analyst and Warehouse Coordinator
Skills and experience
• Relevant tertiary qualifications are desired but not essential
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience gained from a manufacturing organisation
• Strong Excel and analytical skills to effectively assess data and drive decision making
• Strong supplier management/negotiations skills
• Previous materials planning or forecasting experience
• Previous experience managing people would be advantageous
