About the role
You will be working in a great team environment who actively prioritise support and a culture of collaboration.  You will be led by an experienced and tenured A07 with significant relevant industry experience for you to draw from. Working alongside two other AO6 Management Accountants, both of whom have been in the team for over a year, this is a great role if you are wanting to work in a team of high performers.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Undertake research and analysis of budgetary and financial performance including the on-going monitoring, reconciliations, reviewing and reporting of financial activities.
  • Assist the Manager in providing high level professional and strategic advice in relation to management reporting, financial governance and or/accounting implications of various service delivery and financial matters, risks and opportunities and proposals.
  • Contribute to and prepare OpEx reports and correspondence on a range of financial management and budgeting issues, undertake investigations and variance analysis and reviewing budget forecasts, actuals, and commitments.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, conducive to the sharing of relevant financial information and advice on a range of business management issues.
Criteria:
  • You will need sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices for financial management which aligns with the strategic objectives of the organisation.
  • You are experienced in assisting in the provision of accurate and timely financial services to the business areas of a complex organisation, including analysis of established internal controls, maintaining financial systems, preparation of reports and assisting in budget processes.
  • Demonstrated technical skills will include; Excel (Power query, index management, looping formulas, data analyst), SAP, Budgeting, Variance.
  • Experience workign within a Government department will be highly regarded but not essential.
