About the Role

The client is seeking someone with experience working in, or leading workstreams in, government ICT-enabled projects.

The successful applicant will be working in a small team of 6, which includes the Senior Project Manager who this person will be reporting to.

The non-technology workstream team members are focused on improving business processes and resources – being a Principal Policy Officer and a Senior Project Officer. The successful application will take the leading role over the project’s technology and reporting workstreams, which includes two ICT specialists – a Senior Test Analyst and a Business Data Analyst. These technology workstreams are also supported by an external specialist provider, supplying Business Analysis, System Development/Configuration and Power BI development.

The PPO role will:

  • Lead and coordinate project processes and activities, associated with the technology workstream achieving the project objectives.
  • Manage workstream contributions to the development, implementation and monitoring of project plans and phases
  • Structure and oversee project work packages and activities, in consultation with stakeholders to ensure identified needs are met.
  • Manage liaison, communication and coordination with other department teams contributing to the project’s technology workstreams.
Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate, inform and/or undertake project analysis and planning activities
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of project outputs (products), including technology and reporting improvements, associated procedures and instructive documentation.
  • Provide project advice, information and status updates – Including updating the department’s Digital Project Management platform (EPO), preparation of briefings, responses, reports and presentation to executive level stakeholders.
  • Provide secretariat support for project governance groups to ensure effective implementation of project objectives within the established timeframes and allocated budget.
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships, including consultation, negotiation and communication with internal and external clients, networks, stakeholders and service providers.
SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Ideally have experience in a similar role within Government
  • Demonstrated experience working within an ICT project
  • Demonstrated experience with Prince2 and/or Agile methodologies
  • Have highly developed interpersonal communication, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
