About the role
This is a 6 month fixed term contract. Reporting into the Manager, Marketing & Campaign Programs, you will be responsible for managing key relationships with Victoria’s tourism industry and assisting a small team which delivers Visit Victoria’s marketing campaigns to build awareness and increase visitation to Victoria.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Project managing specific marketing partnerships in conjunction with major event, commercial and brand partners.
  • Working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to maximise campaign activity reach and acquisition of first party consumer data.
  • Working with the Major Events business unit to ensure appropriate representation of Visit Victoria on marketing committees to provide advice on destination marketing activities.
  • Critically analysing contractual marketing benefits through major event contracts to ensure maximum and appropriate exposure of Melbourne and Victoria.
  • Coordinating and aligning with major events on the delivery of contractual marketing benefits to ensure maximum and appropriate exposure of Melbourne and Victoria.
  • Actively monitoring the performance of marketing tactics and marketing partnership programs and providing campaign analysis that deliver insights and improves ROI.
  • Actively contributing to the development of marketing strategies and providing input into associated planning activities.
  • Preparing campaign and communication briefs, reports, Ministerial briefs and correspondence on marketing activities and representing Visit Victoria at events, meetings and functions as required.
This role may involve out of hours work including evening or weekend work, as well as occasional overnight travel. 
 
About you
  • Tertiary qualification related to tourism, marketing, communications or advertising preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in a Marketing support, coordination or execution role.
  • High-level project management and organisational skills.
  • High-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Experience in the delivery of integrated, multi-channel marketing campaign development and implementation.
  • Ability and understanding of planning and / or management of major events and related projects.
  • Ability to evaluate and manage contractual marketing benefits.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate marketing strategies and programs.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in the sporting, local council, tourism or hotel industries are preferred.
