The opportunity:
As the Data Analyst Engineer, your role will involve the development and support of data pipelines and models to support the integration of new data sources, and create or update existing ETL and data models to support the business’ needs.  Data quality and governance are a key focus to ensure data is treated as the single source of truth. You will also be responsible for source control using and managing support related queries in relation to the data input and output. You must be strong in cleansing, trend analysis, trimming, data retrieval and ultimately be able to provide insights.
 
Role responsibilities:
  • Data Analysis, Data cleansing and Data Retrieval
  • Complex SQL querying
  • Develop new and legacy reports
  • Data Engineering
  • Develop insights and statistical modelling
  • Develop ETL solutions
  • Involvement in workshops to understand reporting requirements
 
About you:
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role. Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Proficiency in data languages and scripting: SQL, Python and hands on experience with a major cloud infrastructure, Azure.
  • Demonstrable experience in building data assets using Azure, Databricks, SQL, databases, scripts, API’s and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data transformations, data cleansing and data reporting
  • Established experience in Azure Data Lake Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Data Bricks and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
  • Experience in ETL (Data Factory, SSIS, Data Bricks and Power BI)
  • Highly organized with ability to complete multiple activities with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work to tight timelines and with limited supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of business processes in sales, warehouse and distribution, and service environments is beneficial.
