The utilities systems on site cover a substantial amount of complex equipment and systems from pure water systems, pure steam generators, cleanroom HVAC, bulk reagents, sanitary gases and boilers to other mechanical services (refrigeration systems, cooling towers).

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Execute sound engineering solutions to improve the reliability and effectiveness of important Utilities equipment.
- Implement continuous improvement projects through business processes (change controls, safety Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions [CAPAs])
- Maintain compliance, operational running and process optimisation of important Utilities plants
- Work with customers, support departments, operations and maintenance personnel to maximise plant availability and support technical investigations and root cause analysis. This also includes managing/ supervising contractors during regular maintenance work, shutdowns and projects.
- Conduct in-depth investigation of important plant services deviations
- Collaborate to ensure that new projects and equipment installation for the department will be a reliable source of Utilities [available and cGMP quality compliant]
- Provide rostered on call duties and Utilities Control Room support for a 24/7 operation with a hands-on approach
Your skills and experience
To be successful you will have:
- A tertiary degree in Engineering
- At least 3 years experience of plant diagnostic methods, reliability engineering and critical thinking abilities
- Experience with utilities plants including the maintenance and operation of: Water purification, HVAC, Mechanical services, Gas Systems, cooling towers, refrigeration systems or bulk reagents.
- Exceptional investigative and organisational skills
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or allied industry (food, chemical or similar).
