We are partnering with Brisbane's leading and strategic marketing communications agency to find their next Digital Marketing Director.

THE ROLE

The Digital Marketing Director helps the agency achieve its vision to be Australia’s most trusted marketing communication partner, by leading the Marketing Pillar of the business.

The role sits on the company's leadership team and is responsible for ensuring the Pillar meets financial targets, delivers exceptional work for its clients, and attracts and retains high performing and happy staff.


REQUIREMENTS:

▪ Extensive experience in the digital marketing industry, including leadership experience in an agency environment.
▪ Excellent communication skills, strategic ability, and creative thinking
▪ Proven team leader who inspires, guides and supports staff to perfrom to their highest potential, and to deliver exceptional work and outcomes for the agency and its clients.
▪ Proven client leader who is able to build high level relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
▪ Strong commercial acumen, financial management, and negotiation skills.
▪ Excellent understanding of, and experience in, the digital media & marketing landscape.
▪ Excellent technical digital marketing skills; excellent and up to date understanding of digital tools, trends, and opportunities relevant to the agency's business and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES: CLIENTS

Ensures the retention, acquisition, growth, and satisfaction of the Marketing Pillar’s clients:

STRATEGY
▪ Directs the delivery of a broad range of marketing campaigns and programs on behalf of clients including PPC campaigns, social media management, content marketing, email marketing, profiling and thought leadership programs, website management, digital campaign management, stakeholder and community engagement, and other marketing activity.
▪ Leads and develops client strategies, including facilitating strategy workshop, develops strategic plans that meet client objectives, and defines appropriate Scope of Work and KPIs for the implementation of the plan. Directs supporting team members as needed, and seeks guidance and approval from Head of Marketing.
▪ Monitors the implementation of marketing programs to ensure they are on strategy and continue to meet client requirements. Reviews and refines strategy as needed.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
▪ Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients. Seen as trusted advisor and senior counsel. Has a strong and compelling presence at key client meetings e.g. strategic reviews or issues management meetings.
▪ Ensures Pillar team members manage clients effectively. Constantly reviews work in progress with team to ensure Scope of Work is delivered, KPIs are met, and that exceptional client service is delivered at all times.
▪ Pre-empts, identifies, and resolves client issues, and ensures team does the same. Acts quickly and calmly to resolve issues, identifying systems to prevent future recurrence.
▪ Monitors client feedback through regular 1-1 communication with senior clients, and reports updates to Leadership Team. Creates and delivers an action plan to address feedback and improvement areas where required.
CAMPAIGN DELIVERY
▪ Ensures client campaigns are delivered effectively, on strategy, on time, and on budget. Troubleshoots concerns effectively with team, and escalates appropriately to Head of Marketing.
▪ Ensures all content created on behalf of clients (written, visual, video) is of exceptional quality and achieves the expected outcome. Absolutely no typos, grammatical errors, or format inconsistencies in work shared with client.
▪ Oversees digital marketing activities effectively. Ensures campaigns, content, creative and dashboards are of a high standard before being shared with client for approval. Ensures campaign strategies are effective and in line with client’s goals, and are delivered by the team effectively. Ensures ROI KPIs are set at the outset, and achieved.
▪ Proactively seeks to build relationships with key digital media and influencers relevant to clients’ work.
▪ Ensures all agreed client reporting is conducted accurately and in a timely manner. Attends key client meetings to present results.
▪ Provides immediate support to clients in case of digital issues and crisis (agreeing with client professional fees at an hourly rate to do so, if required). Manages issues and crises effectively, escalating these matters to HO, GM and MD immediately.

RESPONSIBILITIES: OPERATIONS

Ensures the agency's business operates effectively:
▪ Adheres to the agency's processes and policies. Ensures team members do the same.
▪ Identifies and develops processes and policies that enhance team performance.
▪ Plans and monitors Team capacity effectively.
▪ Meets target billability
▪ Ensures team meets target billability and that clients are serviced to within target effectively hourly rate
▪ Tracks 100% of working hours
▪ Works effectively and prioritises time to meet deadlines, leaving sufficient time for internal reviews and approvals required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Drives business growth:
• Ensures Pillar meets monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets.
• Works collaboratively with Business Development team to ensure team has a strong pipeline and conversion rates
• Works with HO and GM to forecast capacity requirements in line with BD pipeline
• Builds and maintains industry relationships and networks to generate high value BD leads
• Works with Business Development team to convert BD leads in line with conversion targets. Leads strategy, creative, and presentation of key pitch proposals
• Works with client manager and Business Development team to identify and convert existing client growth opportunities
• Contributes to the strategy and implementation of the agency's BD and marketing strategy, as required
• Acts as a proud and effective industry ambassador, actively networks online and offline to build a strong & positive reputation for the agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES: PEOPLE

Leads people and teams effectively:
• Effectively communicates with Direct Manager/Head of Marketing.
• Briefs and directs team members effectively.
• Manages direct reports and other team members effectively. Invests time in team members' professional development to ensure they are high-performing and happy.
• Develops and monitors Professional Development Plans (PDP) for direct reports. Ensures full team has an active PDP in place.
• Expertly coaches team members, inspiring excellence, growth, and independent thought.
• Performance manages staff effectively as required, with confidence and empathy.
• Identifies recruitment needs in team. Manages recruitment process, seeking support from HO/GM as required
• Pre-empts, identifies, and resolves HR issues promptly, keeping HO updated. Escalates and seeks support from HO as required.
• Creates and maintains team systems and culture that inspire excellence, growth, and accountability in team members.
• Has positive relationships with colleagues and agency partners. Communicates effectively and appropriately at all times.
• Supports other team members as required, with a high level of positivity and accountability.
