About the Company
This is a newly created role for this global leader who specialises in supply chain integration and innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. With several global sustainability awards granted by key customers in the food and beverage sectors, my client is keen to recruit a sustainability expert to be the custodian for the ANZ business.
About the Role
This person will be the primary contact, working closely with their key customers to achieve circular economy principles and close the loop between packaging raw materials, packaging design and recycling infrastructure to achieve key milestones and targets in waste reduction, local emission goals and local legislation. This person will be seeking innovative solutions, and will be responsible for driving all waste programs, as well as managing compliance to APCO, as they work towards hitting the 2025 global packaging targets. You will work with relevant industry bodies to scope and map recyclability of food contaminated packaging.
Skills and Experience
This is a great opportunity for someone who has 4 - 6 years’ experience in waste management, resource recovery and a solid foundation in waste regulations and packaging legislation. You will a passionate player in the sustainability sector, looking to influence and drive change for the future. Ideally, you have held a similar role in sustainability within the food or beverage sectors, and have an understanding of food contaminated packaging. You will work closely with internal category leads, and be instrumental in developing and delivering on education programs, and be a confident project manager. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, and ideally you will hold a degree in environmental studies or sustainability.
