Automation Project Engineer
About the company

They represent the best of both worlds between working in a large and a small business - on the one hand they have enough scale to enable them to invest in exciting projects, to drive innovation, and to create opportunities for their people, and on the other hand they are still a close-knit team that has flexibility in their decision making and aren't hamstrung by having too many approvals, processes, or administration. Their people can spend more time doing real work.
About the role
This is a brand new role, created to bring automation expertise in-house. The role is primarily project focused and you will run your own projects where they are primarily about automation, and you'll own the automation package on larger capital projects which sit with their Project Manager. There is a major project to kick off immediately which is the implementation of a manufacturing line to enable the production of a new product for a new market. You will also have the opportunity to assess how automation systems function across site and drive improvement through those systems. You will work in an established engineering team supported by process engineers, project managers and reliability engineers.

Why apply?
Ths opportunity will give you a great sense of fulfillment while offering you plenty of balance with your personal life. As a project role you will never be on-call within this position, you are not responding to breakdowns and ending up stuck on site for hours after you were supposed to finish - this is a daytime role during regular business hours, and being that it is project focused you have much greater opportunity to plan your time. The size and culture of this business means that you'll work on great projects, but you'll also be able to get quick decisions from the leadership team on changes or improvements that will create an obvious benefit, rather than waiting for months for approval.
