About the Role: 
The Maintenance Manager is an integral member of the Production and Canberra leadership team with management responsibilities for a high performing maintenance team and team culture.


Roles and Responsibilities: 
  • Be the driving key member in continuous improvement in plant reliability, availability & maintenance systems in general.
  • Participate & lead maintenance strategy development & continuous improvement of maintenance processes & systems
  • Manage/ oversee capital spending projects from design through to installation for plant equipment and maintenance
  • Manage maintenance projects and daily processes to budgeted levels
  • Coordinate special projects for Engineering
  • Oversee capital spending and expense projects related to an assigned area
  • Project and capital tracking (GANT chart etc)
  • Reports completed in relation to projects
  • Monitor maintenance activities at assigned plant & provide direction to embed national directives
  • Support site objectives in process control, project management, improvements to reliability & waste controls.
  • Cost Control, ensuring that budgets are met on R&M, wages and overtime and projects.
  • Ensure contractors are used at a minimum

Skills and Experience:
  • Engineering – Mechanical/ Electrical (Engineering Degree/Maintenance Management Degree)
  • Knowledge of commercial high speed bakery equipment used in the manufacture of bread, rolls, pikelets, crumpets and crumbs relative to equipment installation, use, maintenance, troubleshooting, route cause/repair
  • Understand how to establish and implement equipment preventative maintenance programs
  • Use and repair of facility and equipment electrical systems, mechanical systems, heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, overheads and structures
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and equipment schematics
  • Staff development – Coaching & mentoring all levels
  • Team dynamics – empowerment, collaboration, motivation and enthusiasm
  • Operational efficiency – effectively manage technical manpower to achieve targeted operational efficiencies
