General Purpose of the role:

The Accountant plays a vital role in assisting in areas of finance, controlling and reporting (locally and to the headquarter in Switzerland) as well as providing advice to support company’s decision-making when required. The incumbent assists in ensuring that the company’s financial records are up-to-date and that all regulatory requirements (local law as well as HQ directives) are always met and acts as the intermediary to external stakeholders, such as auditors and tax advisers. In addition, he/she keeps records of V-ZUG personnel updated, as well as supports the Head of Finance on other finance or HR related topics.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain Fixed Asset register and monthly depreciation.
  • Manages the stocktake process, analyse the variances and process the adjustments in the system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Takes responsibility for day-to-day financial transactions
  • Assists Head of Finance to perform business analysis and makes recommendations.
  • Assist with annual Income Tax returns, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, management of cash flow and planning, annual audit and transfer pricing
  • Ensuring the accuracy of customer invoices, service invoices and receipts.
  • Prepare and analyse aged debtors and creditors reports and process of clearing them including liaising with external stakeholders and sending statements.
  • Bank account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations including corporate credit cards.
  • Prepare month end journals and managing the prepayments and accruals and General Ledger reconciliation.
  • Responsible for inventory management SAP and providing inventory reports to the management.
  • Maintain SAP Master data including Customer, Supplier, Inventory, and controls.
  • Create PO & receipt invoices for V-ZUG AG, reconcile V-ZUG AG Intercompany accounts and process SIT adjustment and journal.
  • Processes fortnightly payroll and manage all other related payroll matters including employee leave, superannuation, employee onboarding, offboarding and assist the process of drafting employee contracts.
  • Manage company insurances including work cover.
  • Manage bank accounts and eWay account.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly management reports.
  • Assists with financial reporting into COGNOS and other month end reports to HQ.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, FBT, Payroll taxes and other statutory returns/ payments.
  • Process staff expense claims
  • Assess supplier agreement and identify/ provide recommendations to the Head of Finance for cost reductions and efficiencies.
  • Assists the Head of Finance in the running of daily activities associated with the finance and compliance as well as HR of the company.
  • Prepare, analyse & report on the weekly sales forecast.
  • Takes responsibility for day-to-day financial transactions.
