About the company
Paintback®, established in 2016, is an industry-led initiative designed to divert unwanted paint and packaging from ending up in landfill and vital waterways. Paintback is backed by the Australian paint industry and the major companies that supply around 90% of all the architectural and decorative (A&D) paint sold in Australia. Paintback’s founding members are Dulux, Haymes, Taubmans, Resene and Wattyl.
 
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager of Commercial & Strategy, and working closely with the broader leadership team and Chief Executive, you will be responsible for:
 
Marketing & Brand
  • Generate strategies to maintain the Paintback brand as an enduring mark that drives value for the scheme, its participants and supply-chain supporters, promoting its attributes of responsible, trustworthy and innovative.
  • Lead the creative process for the Paintback’s visual identity design, value proposition, brand values, tag line and so on.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans that support Paintback’s commercialisation of R&D into higher resource recovery products.
Digital and Social Channels
  • Plan and execute web, search engine optimization and marketing, mobile (SMS and location-based), email, pay per click campaigns and affiliate website opportunities. This includes creating and adapting content.
Public Relations
  • Develop and implement public relations campaigns that drive consumer awareness of the scheme nationally, and through to locally driven campaigns to promote collection sites.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Devise collaboration partnerships with Paintback’s stakeholders, including participating companies, retailers and industry associations, to mutually strengthen Paintback’s brand and awareness and further their reputations for being environmentally responsible.
 
Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role leading the marketing, communications and brand strategy and delivery for an organisation
  • Experience delivering consumer awareness/behaviour change campaigns and activities
  • Experience in product marketing, positioning, multi-channel and distribution campaigns; including launching new products
  • Project managing suppliers and ensuring contractual outcomes are delivered to budget. The ability to project-manage the creative process to deliver sustainable business outcomes.
  • Industry experience in FMCG, Retail (hardware in particular), paint or similar is highly advantageous
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment: embraces ambiguity, hands on and perseveres in challenging situations to achieve the organisation’s objectives.
