About our Client
Our client is an established and highly regarded third-party logistics service provider with a loyal base of FMCG and Consumer Durables customers. They have recently moved into their new flagship Victorian Distribution Centre and now have an amazing opportunity available for an experienced, senior logistics professional to lead the facility in the capacity of Distribution Centre Manager.
 
About the Opportunity
The Distribution Centre Manager is a high-profile senior leadership position wholly responsible for the operational and commercial performance of a large, complex, multi-user distribution facility. In addition to leading a ‘safety first’ culture and driving improved outcomes in employee performance and customer service levels from the site, the Distribution Centre Manager will:
  • Work collaboratively with a range of national clients across various industries to ensure that service levels, inventory and supply chain efficiencies are optimised.
  • Effectively manage a large operating budget, driving outstanding commercial outcomes for the organisation.
  • Ensure that all site-based processes and standard operating procedures are aligned to broader business strategy around safety, service and cost management.
  • Lead a performance driven culture and a team who collaborate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders, maximising customer service levels and optimal distribution network efficiency.
  • Lead supply chain projects and CI initiatives based on the identification of opportunities for improvement on site.
  • Ensure that the broader national and international distribution network for the organisation is supported by the sound performance of what is a critical intermodal hub. 
 
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be a senior logistics professional with a demonstrated track record of success in the 3PL industry. You will have in depth knowledge of multiple modes of distribution and experience leading a large single site or multi-site Warehouse / Distribution Centre network. Commercially astute and operationally strong, you will be a natural leader of people and possess first class interpersonal and demonstrated influencing abilities.
