Group Account Director
Due to its rapid growth, an exciting Group Account Director role has just become available to the biggest independent media company in Australia. They now pride themselves in providing a full range of integrated marketing solution from media to creative, data and technology.
They collaborate with some of Australia’s biggest companies and operate across the country in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Darwin. Their primary service for their client is the optimisation of paid, earned, and owned media to help deliver the growth that their clients aim. The Group Account Director role is a critical client partner role exemplifies leadership, strategic, accountability, business acumen and vision to their company’s portfolio.
You will be responsible to deliver the best services to their clients and optimising profitability and managing teamwork. You will work closely with the GM of Media Technology to unfold new revenue streams across all platforms for the benefit of their clients.
Your role is pivotal to their business as you will act as their key steward and internal representative of the company. This role will need expertise across communication strategy and planning as well as supporting the executions of best practices. Additionally you must be skilled with data and performance as these are the core of our services.
This role will be reporting to the Chief Digital Officer and chairman and will be leading a team of 6. You will be working also closely with various stakeholders, cross functional team and third parties.

Your responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the client business providing superior customer service while optimising business opportunities.
- Mentor the team to maximise individuals’ growth and harness the strengths and opportunities of each team member.
- Uncovers data led insights in order to respond to Client briefs to meet objectives.
- Build, maintain and foster strong relationship with multiple senior client stakeholders by providing value to the services and supporting their challenges in businesses.
- Represents the voice of the client and the brand having intimate knowledge of their business and their competitors
- Leads and manages outputs of other teams ensuring deliverables are aligned to brief and KPIs
- Strong offline & planning experience, but with strong digital/performance understanding
- Leads, inspires and motivates the team to deliver to our client objectives and have fun while doing so

- Provides clients with regular updates in regards to the media landscape overviews, trend analysis and developments while always ensuring a unique and personal point of view
- A Diploma/ degree in Advertising or Marketing or Communication or similar field
- Min 12 years of experience inn media or communications firm with a proven track of record leading a high performing team.
- Demonstrated successful roles of Group Business Director, Business Director, or General Manager
- Great knowledge of all media channel practices and tactics (digital and content/ creative)
- Expertise in all media research, planning and buying tools as well as the ability to analyse the results and identify insights for best practices.
- Outstanding negotiation skills and communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to build good rapport with clients.
- Excellent in delivering pitches and influence skills.
- Digital savvy and not traditional with great planning skills and strong business acumen
- Excellent knowledge of the media landscape and the impact of changes to media consumption trends
- Demonstrates financial and numerical astuteness, with attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Proficient with G Suite and Mac programs: Keynote & Sheets
- Broad Marketing knowledge i.e. Mark Ritson Mini MBA and curiosity to ask the right questions and probe opportunities.
- Excellent ability to lead, develop and retain team.
