The Opportunity
This role can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the SME Rail role will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to the Project Managers and Engineering Consultants across a range of engineering and design issues throughout the development life cycle of the new Intermodal Terminal Precincts. You will be managing the relationship with the ARTC.

You will be managing the relationship with the ARTC.
- Lead technical assurance activities relating to Rail Engineering through the design scoping, design supervision and design review.
- Develop and maintain a set of standard rail related engineering technical documents, including standards and specifications.
- Develop project specific technical requirements for inclusion in projects scope
- Provide engineering technical guidance to Project Managers and external consultants to ensure consistency across all National Intermodal’s developments.
- Provide rail related expert advice and demonstrating advanced technical skills in support of project scope of work delivery.
- Proactively collaborating with appropriate team members and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness delivery.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
- Registered Practicing Engineer in Victoria (RPEV) or Queensland (RPEQ), or eligible for qualification.
- Previous experience working in major infrastructure would be preferable.
- Strong technical and operational knowledge of ARTC and rail requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, great internal and external stakeholder management.
