Our client is seeking an AO6 & AO7 Business Development Officer/s who are looking for their next challenge in a client focused role. The successful person will have a real passion for customer experience and relationship building and is a true self-starter who isn't afraid to roll up there sleeves and develop new business.
This business unit is responsible for playing a key role in growing diversified exports and attracting investments to Queensland. In this role you will be engaging with international buyers and investors who are seeking investment within food and agribusiness companies and with other relevant stakeholders. You will contribute to trade targets, manage, and coordinate a range of relevant trade and investments projects and play an important role in leading the team’s engagement in target sectors as required.
This is a client facing role and would suit someone who is able to network and build relationships and has even worked within business development or stakeholder engagement where your main focus is the client.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Food & Agribusiness team resources under guidance of the Director to lead and manage the planning, delivery, reporting and budget management for key sector projects to drive commercial outcomes.
- Directly engage with food and agribusiness companies and other relevant stakeholders and provide high-quality specialist advice to help them to succeed in export markets.
- Directly engage with international investors and entities seeking investment to provide expert advice and support to achieve successful investment outcomes and coordinate the delivery of investment facilitation services to international investors.
- Provide advice to exporters and investors on government and industry policies, programs, and incentives.
- Successfully engage across local, state, and federal government and industry and across cultures to build relationships and collaboration to deliver on the food and agribusiness priorities in the Strategy for 2022–2032.
- Manage a portfolio of key clients to ensure KPI targets are met, and future pipelines of clients are developed utilising the CRM and tools, and regularly report business outcomes to Senior Management.
- Undertake research and develop policy papers, briefs and reports for management review and consideration to support the Food & Agribusiness team in taking forward its priority sectors.
Criteria:
- Experience in managing a portfolio of key clients – business development, stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
- Demonstrated experience managing and implementing multiple projects independently with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication, consultation and negotiation skills and experience in client and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to develop, maintain and nurture collaborative working relationships in your commitment to achieving results and long-term growth in a client facing environment.
- Experience in engaging with Food & Beverage organisations, sporting industries, Agribusiness or similar will be highly regarded.
- Experience working within AgTech highly regarded, but not essential.
- Experience in trade facilitation and investment attraction ideal.
- Must have full working rights to work in Australia with no restrictions.
