The opportunity
Ausreo is a prominent player in the steel reinforcement, renowned for our unwavering commitment to excellence in producing top-quality steel goods and services. We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our operations in the Victoria business unit. This pivotal role will be instrumental in overseeing and managing all aspects of production and manufacturing, ensuring adherence to company policies and driving the achievement of KPIs.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide dynamic leadership for the execution of production and manufacturing KPIs, collaborating closely with the management team to address operational matters and foster the growth of accountable staff.
  2. Directly manage a team of seven talented professionals, including Shift Supervisors, Maintenance personnel, a Fabrication Manager, and an Inventory and Purchasing Officer, while overseeing a larger indirect team of 50+.
  3. Act as the primary person responsible for safety oversight, promptly identifying and mitigating immediate risks to maintain a secure working environment.
  4. Monitor and manage production targets and address any variances through regular, effective communication with Shift Supervisors.
  5. Ensure even and prioritized distribution of workloads, optimizing efficiency and productivity across the production floor.
  6. Lead capital improvement projects, including plant upgrades, actively participating in reviews and making strategic recommendations.
 
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Proven experience in a similar role within the steel fabrication industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of production and manufacturing processes.
  2. Excellent leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving performance improvements.
  3. Thorough knowledge of safety protocols and procedures, prioritizing a secure working environment.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling effective management of production targets and variances.
  5. Proficiency in capital improvement initiatives, including plant upgrades and strategic recommendations.
  6. Commitment to quality workmanship, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
