CopRice is the animal food division of SunRice. CopRice is a leading supplier of animal nutrition products to the companion animal and livestock sectors, with a range of pelleted and extruded feed products.
 
The Opportunity
As a Project Engineer, you will be scoping out and leading a number of key projects across 3x core manufacturing sites for the CopRice business. These projects will vary from capital expenditure (CapEx), process improvements, systems improvements, reliability and maintenance plans etc. This is a newly created role for the business given recent growth and acquisitions of other sites. There is a Centralised Engineering Team who you will be working alongside, however you will be directly reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager.
 
This is a rare opportunity for a junior to mid level engineer to step up and lead projects from the front, demonstrating your people leadership and stakeholder management early on in your career.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing documentation for submission of Capital Expenditure Requests.
  • Developing a project schedule and manage timelines to get the project delivered on time.
  • Ensuring all stages of the project is structure, negotiated and procured to achieve optimal financial and quality outcomes.
  • Develop engineering solutions in collaborations with other engineering team members, the manufacturing team and any suppliers/vendors/contractors required.
  • Making sure all projects are designed with safety in mind and delivered safely.
  • Preparing of monthly reports for project works for the leadership team.
This role will be primarily based in Leeton, NSW. This is a multi-site Project Engineer role primarily focused on the sites of Gunnedah, Leeton and Wangaratta. There is some travel required for this role. For the first 8 months, each month you will be spending 3 weeks in Leeton/Wangaratta and 1 week in Gunnedah.
 
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to talk to lots of different people from varying levels within the organisation.
  • Ability to break down highly technical concepts to be understood by anyone.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment in a projects or process engineering role would be highly regarded.
