Our client is a global automation leader, providing premium drive and control technologies.  They develop, produce and distribute components and system solutions including electric motors, generators, inverters and hydraulics combined with modular software modules.

About the role:

The role of Senior Sales Engineer, Hydraulics requires you to be a key point of contact for clients and provide both pre-sales and after-sales advice.  Reporting to the State Manager - Victoria, you will focus on the Victorian territory, building on existing key client relationships and developing new business opportunities, to strengthen the company's sales and growth in hydraulics.  You will apply the latest technologies for state-of-the-art design and Industry 4.0 applications, to find ways to add value to customers and strengthen the company position within the market.  Your broad hydraulics product and applications knowledge will be valued.  You will have the opportunity to design integrated hydraulic and control solutions for new equipment using high-performance electrical control components, supported by a highly experience electrical programming team.  You will support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.  There will be an opportunity to travel interstate and overseas as required, although Victoria will be the main focus for the role. 

About You:
  • Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Understanding/experience working with PLC and motion controllers would be desirable
  • Experience in Sales (hydraulic and electrical controls equipment desired, with experience in system design)
  • The ability to draw, read and understand hydraulic schematics
  • Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen
  • Strong communication skills suiting a highly motivated individual
  • Proficient PC skills/ Microsoft Applications/ Web
