About the role:
 
As the COGNOS Specialist, you will play a business critical role supporting the BI & Analytics team and wider stakeholders to create and maintain data, reporting and analytics across the business.
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual who can dig deep into the data and provide valuable insights while questioning, cleansing and mapping data according to requirements.
 
We have both contract and permanent options available for this role.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide database support including data mapping and definition across the current SQL systems including BI and Cognos databases in support of the BI team.
  • Provide strategic guidance with data warehousing, data lakes and all repositories in support of our reporting, analytics and insights requirements.
  • Work with ‘Big Data’, to create Analytics, Reporting and Dashboards to guide the business in its growth and oversight. 
  • Development of logical data models.
 
About you:
  • Degree or Diploma qualified in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science or IT
  • 6+ years in Data Analytics, Modelling and Profiling
  • Experience with COGNOS reporting is essential
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, PowerBI and Tableau
  • Strong knowledge working in a Microsoft environment; its security model, auditing and compliance.
