Position Summary:
I am seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer/Team Lead to play a pivotal role in this organisation. In this dynamic position, you will lead the engineering team in improving thie current product range, developing engineered solutions, and driving efficient production processes. Your leadership abilities, technical expertise, and commitment to safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness will be instrumental in delivering commercially viable products on time and within budget. As an inspiring mentor, you will guide and develop engineers while fostering a collaborative environment that thrives on innovation.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  1. Take charge and drive the engineering team to deliver outcomes in a demanding and fast-paced working environment.
  2. Ensure adherence to good engineering principles, maintain traceability of documentation, and continuously improve safety, quality, and costs.
  3. Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers, supporting their career development plans and leveraging your design experience.
  4. Engineer solutions that are fit for purpose, considering compliance checks, building legislation, and Australian/New Zealand Standards.
  5. Design solutions with manufacturing considerations in mind, including ease of manufacture, error proofing, labor efficiency, and material cost.
  6. Mitigate manufacturing, installation, and operational safety risks when developing product solutions.
  7. Identify environmental opportunities, such as waste reduction, the use of non-hazardous materials, recycling, and disassembly.
 
Requirements:
 
  1. Excellent communication, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  2. Proactive approach and can-do attitude.
  3. Ability to inspire and mentor a small team of Engineers, this role could be a good steppingstone into your first leadership position.
  4. Working knowledge of Inventor 3D modeling and 2D CAD, open to experience with other software’s.
  5. Highly developed problem-solving ability and the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  6. Previous engineering experience in manufacturing or made-to-order businesses is highly desirable.
  7. Current certification as a Professional Engineer within Australia is preferred, or willingness to work towards certification.
