Six Degrees Executive have partnered with a well-known retail business as they are looking to build their engineering team.
 
The company is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Software Engineer (with React, JavaScript and AWS skills) who will play a crucial role in designing and building solutions to address customer needs and wants.
 
The opportunity
 
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
 
  • Participating in various aspects of solution design and build
  • Developing high quality software with a high degree of testability
  • Ensuring code is secure and developed with a customer first mindset
  • Engineering and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that are properly defined and performing optimally
  • Creating documentation to support the ongoing operational maintenance of implemented solutions, including runbooks for L1 and L2 support teams
  • Providing L3 & L4 support, diagnosing and resolving issues affecting production environment
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers
 
About you:

To be considered for this position, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of extensive development experience building e-commerce solutions
  • Experience in building complex applications using React framework, AWS and JS based back-end systems
  • Expertise in back-end and front-end technologies including APIs (REST/GraphQL), event and messaging (PubSub/Streaming) and web (Javascript/Typescript/React) technologies
  • Strong knowledge of data design utilising SQL, NoSQL and document databases
  • Knowledge of secure code practices and the application of security patterns across several technical layers
  • Understanding of full SDLC including troubleshooting and providing 3rd level support
 
In addition, the following would be highly desirable:
  • Previous experience in a Retail / eCommerce environment
  • Ability to engineer CI/CD/SecOps pipelines
  • Knowledge of deployments with zero down time
  • Ability to create scripts and tools utilising scripting languages such as bash/ksh/sh/Powershell
