About the Company:
Our client is a highly successful food service business with a reputation for quality within their range of trusted brands and a vision to be market leaders in the product segments and markets that they play in. They are seeking a skilled and motivated Transport Planner to join their Outbound Operations Team. Reporting to the Transport Manager, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to route optimisation, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
 
About the Role:
As a Transport Planner, your primary responsibility will be executing day-to-day routing functions, ensuring efficient distribution, and communicating clearly and managing a team of drivers. You will play a crucial role in enhancing customer service, reducing costs, and achieving delivery excellence.

PLEASE NOTE: This role is a Sunday to Thursday job. You will have Friday and Saturday off. The hours are also Afternoon hours 12:30pm start to 9:30pm. 
 
Duties:
  • Optimize delivery routes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize fuel usage and vehicle wear.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and subcontractors to ensure operational capabilities and timely deliveries.
  • Prepare daily reports for sales, transport, and warehouse teams, highlighting routing and loading issues and proposing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and updated data, including delivery windows, service times, travel times, and mapping information.
  • Ensure compliance with fatigue management policies and regulations for driver routes.
 
Key skills & experience:
  • Previous experience in a transport environment, with a strong understanding of planning and transport planning systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer experience.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in data analysis.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills.
