Are you a detail-oriented and driven individual with a passion for numbers and financial accuracy? We are seeking a full time Assistant Accountant to contribute to a dynamic finance department. Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments efficiently and with precision.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting and forecasting activities, providing valuable financial data and analysis.
  • Aid in payroll processing, including accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring proper documentation, explanations, and reconciliations.
  • Stay updated on accounting principles and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance in financial operations.
  • Assist with preparation of income tax information.
  • Review GL items entered into system eg coding and allocations
  • Aid in payroll processing, including accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and prepare reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department as required.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Prior experience in the transport industry is desired.
  3. A solid understanding of financial principles, accounting, and bookkeeping.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record-keeping.
  5. Ability  to maintain a polite, diplomatic, and professional manner and tone in all verbal and written communications both internal and external.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  8. Professionalism and a commitment to high ethical standards.
  9. Be willing to assist other departments through an awareness of corporate citizenship and supporting other areas in administrative roles as required.
