As an Assistant Accountant,  you will play a pivotal role in supporting the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation functions. Your main responsibilities will include processing financial transactions, preparing reports, maintaining accurate financial data, and providing administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of our financial and administrative processes.

This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles.


Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation transactions for multiple clubs daily.
  • Assist the Finance Team with data processing tasks.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to management as needed.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly management reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and financial audits.
  • Create monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the General Ledger.
  • Build effective work relationships and contribute to team performance.
  • Deliver responsive and efficient customer service by addressing queries in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in existing practices, systems, and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Practical experience within a finance environment, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in preparing management reports.
  • Experience in general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the creation of spreadsheets and the use of formulas and functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and logically.
  • Exceptional multitasking and prioritization abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, consultation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and requirements.
  • A team player willing to collaborate and assist colleagues as needed.

  • Excellent computer skills and literacy.
  • Full valid Victorian driving license
