The Opportunity
 
This in an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious Financial Accountant to take the next step in your career by joining the finance function of this highly recognised global retail brand.
 
As the 2IC to the Financial Controller, you will take full accountability for the providing analysis and insights to the wider business and senior leadership team through the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
 
The role
 
As somebody that embraces change, you will have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas to the team and take ownership for process improvement initiatives that drive efficiencies across the finance team.
 
With responsibility for the less experienced team members, you will be accountable for the following on a monthly basis:
 
  • Taking financial control of the month end process including reporting, variance analysis and providing commentary.
  • Manage the month end timetable and workload of the team.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Distribution of financial reports, monitoring business performance.
  • Responsible for tax compliance including BAS and Income Tax returns.
  • Making recommendations and implementing improved processes to improve efficiencies.
 
You
 
As a CA/CPA qualified accountant with clear drive top progress your career, the ideal candidate will already have demonstrated experience across financial accounting with an interest in making an early impression by improving the way the team gets things done.
 
Having an inquisitive mind, with strong attention to detail, you will possess strong Microsoft Excel skills and be excited by the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership capability. For the right candidate, you will get the support you need to take the next step beyond this role. While an understanding of the retail or hospitality industry would be beneficial, candidates from other industries are encouraged to apply.
