 I'm working with the leading manufacturer and supplier of sugar and sweetener products in Australia. They are committed to delivering high-quality products while minimizing our environmental impact. As part of their continuous improvement efforts, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to provide oversight & support to their business. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our sustainability goals, s, drive compliance with regulations, and manage capital projects.
 
Responsibilities: As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide professional oversight, support, and leadership for the business in electrical engineering matters.
  • Drive compliance with relevant electrical standards and regulations, such as AS3000, AS4024, and Hazardous Area.
  • Promote standardization and continuous improvement in the electrical and process control fields.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and implement alternate energy technologies.
  • Manage selected capital projects, mainly focusing on electrical and control system projects, for the site capital program.
  • Ensure high-level project management, cost control, and reporting for the assigned projects.
  • Participate in business safety initiatives, including safety walks, to improve safety behavior and awareness.
  • Ensure the site's electrical infrastructure is adequately maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Take a lead role in electrical safety on site, including maintaining current permits related to electrical safety and ensuring their appropriate use.
  • Lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis and safety investigations, particularly for electrical-related incidents.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance, production, and capital personnel.
  • Offer subject matter technical assistance to the organization and provide advice and input into capital projects to optimize energy usage and cost.
  • Provide electrical engineering support to resolve electrical, instrumentation, and control system plant maintenance and operating issues, including programming changes to SCADA, DCS, and PLC systems.
 
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Hazardous area training would be highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 8 years of electrical engineering experience in a chemical processing or manufacturing environment preferably FMCG.
  • Experience working with HV is preferred.
  • Good understanding of Workplace Health & Safety Acts, Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
  • Demonstrated electrical knowledge and application of relevant codes and practices.
  • Experience and knowledge of Citect SCADA, DCS, and PLC design (Hardware and Software).
  • Demonstrated competence in delivering engineering capital projects on time and within budget.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the organization.
